HALLS brand sweets were invented around 1930 in Great Britain - as cough drops. In some parts of the world such as Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Colombia and the Philippines, HALLS is marketed as a mentholated candy (breath freshener) and is not considered a cough suppressant.
In Brazil, the brand holds more than 40% of the market in the segment and becomes the company's flagship. In the domestic market, the product is called "drops".
